Students will listen and respect all adults on duty
Physical contact and verbal abuse is not permitted by anyone
Use playground equipment properly and safely
No throwing snowball or rocks
Display positive sportsmanship and follow the 6 pillars of character
Line up quickly and quietly
Ask before leaving the playground and entering the building

From the Lunch Room

For the 2010/2011 School year, new lunch room policies will be followed.

Students in first grade will take all five components and one milk. If they drink their milk and eat two of the five components, they may go to the salad bar for cottage cheese, carrots and bread.

Parents are welcome to come to school to eat lunch with their child. We ask that you call the office in advance to let the cooks know. Also, parents are not allowed to bring special lunches (fast food) into the school building.

About Me

Mrs. Carlson: Hello!! My name is Jill Carlson, and I am a first grade teacher. I absolutely love my job and feel very fortunate to be able to work in such a rewarding field! From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I kept that goal in mind and eventually got my dream job! This is my third year teaching first grade. I have been involved in working with children most of my life. I started out babysitting, worked at a daycare, worked as a teacher’s associate at Rockwell City Lytton Elementary, and finally became the “real deal”, a teacher. My previous teaching assignments included a long term 5th grade substitute and a 7/8th grade social studies teacher. I grew up in Barnum and attended MNW. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in reading and Social Studies through Buena Vista University. I also just completed my Master’s Degree in Professional Education through Morningside College.
